The Summer Olympics currently underway in Brazil are "STEAMY" for more reasons that just the hot and humid weather! Math, Science, and Technology are at the heart of every Olympic athlete's training. From carefully tracking the calories burned and kilometers run to engineering the best equipment possible to give them a competitive edge, STEAM is responsible for much of the peak athletic performance we see. Check out these resources below to identify one Olympic sporting event or one area in which Math, Science, & Technology play an important role. Use the video or article as a starting point, conduct an independent research project explaining how Science and Math influence this particular sport. Make sure to explain all scientific concepts as clearly and plainly as possible. (Suggested length = 2 pages double-spaced)
