"The Cambrian Explosion & Fossil Record"
What an eventful day! From the unexpected rodent visitor to hallway this morning, to the equally unexpected fire evacuation later this morning, to the soft lock-down drill and visitors this afternoon, there sure was a lot happening! Lot's of excitement. And Discovery School students handled it all with poise and grace. Thank you all for being responsible young adults and showing maturity and responsibility, always.
Today, Mr. Franklin had the distinct pleasure of traveling to Lebanon Junction Elementary School to share with 5th graders there the opportunities available to them at Discovery School. The recruitment meeting went wonderfully - students there constructed some impressive towers able to withstand "hurricane force" wind gusts during the hands-on engineering portion of the presentation - and many students expressed interest in applying in the Spring. So, Discovery Schoolers, get excited for your new potential teammates next year! We'll need your help and leadership in selecting our incoming class who will take up your mantle and carry on your legacy after graduation!
Meanwhile, Mr. P oversaw the classes that Mr. Franklin missed portions of. The classwork assignment is posted to Edmodo (and linked in .PDF form below). Please make sure this is completed no later than Wednesday morning. Also, don't forget, students have a 5-paragraph essay on their Predictions for the Future due today! Please submit via Edmodo, e-mail, Google Share, or dbinbox. Any questions, just ask!
